This is my portrait of Jonathan, a teacher from the small village of Butansi in southern Uganda. The picture was taken while working on assignment for the UK based charity Buyemba and is part of my long term project on Uganda. This portrait was exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery London as part of the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize ‘10 and at HOST Gallery as part of the Foto8 Summershow ‘11. It’s a favourite of mine.
